Correction!!

...our fellow pilgrim, Cybil, just turned 78!! yesterday, and she's from Belgium. She started out on the road before us today, then we passed her up along the way, THEN when we got to our final destination today, Torres de Rio, Cybil was already there, an hour before us, drinking a beer!! I know she didn't take a taxi or bus because we walked a long remote section of trail today through vineyards, wheat fields, and ancient ruins, for about 12km... Unless a farmer picked her up... But I doubt it. That woman has more flexibility and ease of movement than we do. The last time I was able to move so freely was when I was in my 20's. Once again... Just amazing. More on the beautiful countryside later.

Lorca!!

Made it to Lorca today... Short walk, only 13.5km (8.47 miles). Why? Because we are in PAIN! O.k. Not too much pain but yesterday we were really suffering. We have learned something pretty big on the Camino today... As much as we complain about our "ailments" there is always someone else who has more pain (or should be in more pain). We told you about Wolfgang... 75 year old guy who walked the Camino 10 times already? Well we learn today that he also walks in sandals, AND has a heart condition! So what are we complaining about! And on top of that, as we are walking along, we are passed up by a fellow with ONE leg!! AND that fellow was SMILING!! Now we are really feeling like bums. All the people are great! All very interesting, from all walks of life, and from all reaches of the planet. Just very cool! The icing on the cake for me today was meeting Cybil from Hungary (?), mid-70's and has been walking the Camino so much in the last 20 years that she can't even count... BUT she has at least 15 Compostelas!! Amazing! Well we will see how far we get tomorrow... No complaining here anymore. One highlight tomorrow will be a stop at the Fuente del Vino! The wine fountain on the trail... Yumm. Well Dewey is watching the champions league soccer game here at the Alburgue with a slovainian fellow, Drago. Until our next solid Internet connection.... Buen Camino!

Made it to Puente La Reina

Walked about 30 frickn miles so far.. Like we just walked to the San Diego Zoo, and why the heck do we feel so bad! Still having fun though. Tomorrow we'll aim for less than 10 miles... A short day. Meeting a lot of nice people. We will try to put pictures up as soon as we figure out how to get them downloaded. Later....

Got to a WiFi connection....

After a one day delay in London we made it to Spain and started the Camino on Friday in Roncesvalles.  The first leg was 13 miles to Zubiri. We just made it with sore feet.  Then we met a guy from Germany, 75 years old and this was his 10 tenth Camino !!!  Two in the winter.  Wolfgang was walking in sandels...We were humbled but kept going. The second day we made it to Cizur Menor, about 15 miles and feel ok.  Tommorrow we go up a big hill and it will be a bit tougher but MJ may take my bag.  We have met a bunch of great people and are having a lot of fun.  Pictures to follow.
